The triple test for early diagnosis of breast lumps

FOR MOST BREAST LUMPS IT IS RECOMMENDED TO CONDUCT THE “TRIPLE TEST”

1) Clinical examination

2)Radio imaging (mainly mammogram or ultrasound)

3) Fine needle aspiration biopsy.

In Port Moresby ALL these 3 tests can be done by your primary care doctor (at a private GP or a public health centre) and at the Port Moresby General Hospital at very low cost.

IF YOU HAVE A LUMP IN YOUR BREAST ACT EARLY. Make an appointment to see your primary care doctor. She or he should do a proper physical examination and can then organise a referral to have radio imaging studies (mammogram and or ultrasound scan)

Please note that most breast lumps are benign, meaning not dangerous! !!!!! But this can only be ascertained through proper diagnostic investigation. THE TRIPLE TEST.

IF THE LUMP IS CANCEROUS, IT IS BETTER TO PICK IT UP EARLY AS THIS MAKES ONE’S CHANCES OF CURE BETTER.
